Our Booking Process

Selecting your photographer should be the hardest part of the process, do you love their images TICK, do they provide the products you are after TICK, are you excited to be photographed by them? TICK. YAY! Now how about the process… Jodie like to keep things nice and simple!

three steps to book a portrait shoot, images inside circle cut outs

Step One: Booking

After your initial contact and you have decided you would love to work with Jodie we have a few simple things in place.
One we choose a date and time for your portrait sitting, (unless you are a newborn client and then we pencil in your due date and confirm your sitting day once baby arrives) then I send you a invoice for your sitting fee and a link to my portrait contract. Once I receive your payment and completed contract you are booked in! I will then provide you with some more information, like what to bring, what to wear and what to expect on the day.

Step Two: The Shoot

I aim to keep things nice and relaxed, a portrait sitting is usually all over in an hour and a half & newborns between 2-4 hours. I know little children and often partners don’t love the idea of having their photos taken but by keeping things relaxed and working around little peoples needs we always achieve beautiful portraits quite painlessly… no one has ever admitted to it hurting! I’m always very patient and gentle with your little people but especially your new baby, always working around what is working best for them!
Don’t know how to stand, hate having your photo taken, don’t know how or where to look? No problem! I will gently guide you!  If you are a newborn or maternity client with young children we are more than happy for them to leave as soon as their photos have been taken or in the case of a maternity client arrive after Mum to be has had her hair & makeup done and then her photos taken first.

Step Three: Image Selection

Approximately two weeks after your portrait sitting I will contact you to arrange a day/time to come in and select your images. You will have a chance to view all of your fully edited images and select only the images that you love. There are no hard selling techniques here and no pressure to spend more money than you anticipated. If you are going for a folio box package you will be able to take home your beautiful portraits on the day.
It is at this point that you receive our internet use form. This form allows you to opt in and out of social media sharing across our brand, again no pressure you select only what you are comfortable with.

what to wear to a portrait sitting

The top question on everyones lips… what to wear?
Co-ordinated outfits are great, they don’t need to be matchy-matchy in fact it’s best when they aren’t! Please keep patterns simple, avoid large logo/prints and steer away from neons. Think classic/timeless but still “you”. We have a selection of maternity gowns available for our clients to use as well as a small selection of outfits for those beautiful mother/daughter shots we do in the big tutus.
If you are still stuck take a look through our galleries at what previous clients have opted for and remember Pinterest is a great source of inspiration!

“Excellent job, during the maternity photo session, Jodie provided me clothing and advice. As well as, during the newborn photo session, Jodie had a huge patience with my little baby. She is very kind. I loved it. The photos touched in the deepest of my heart. Definetely, I recommend her professional job to all.”
