Phew 2014 was a very busy year!
I followed Charles & Elodie right the way through their first year, photographed my first birth session, shot my record number of sessions in a year and finally took over the “ownership” of the man cave in our home turning it into my full time studio. I feel like I’ve found my own little groove in the newborn photography world and was very pleased to become an accredited professional with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.
Towards the end of 2014 things went a little haywire in our house with children resisting bedtime, school holidays (x2!), a minor computer cable problem resulting in down time, the crazy busy period we experience in the lead up to Christmas with my husbands business and me so tired by the evening that there was very little time left to get my editing done. I just want to say a big thank you to everyone that has been so patient and understanding waiting on their galleries, prints & USB’s, I promise if you haven’t received them yet that they are not too far away!
That leads me into 2015 and a big announcement… the reason I was struggling so much was the little person I have been busy growing! We are expecting baby #3 in late June and thankfully I have received a bit of a (much needed) boost in energy after hitting the 2nd Trimester.
I hope this little one is more willing to uncover their face once he/she is on this side!
2015 is going to be a little different to 2014 in that aside from an expanding family I have already got four weddings booked and one of those in in Ireland, my self-imposed limit is 1 per year… eeek! While my true passion remains in Newborn Photography that will need to be backed down a little as newborn sessions really take a toll on your body even when you are not pregnant!
In an effort to best serve my lovely clients, their families and my own I am definitely not taking any more wedding bookings and will be limiting the number of newborn sessions per month, I will however be opening up some extra mini sessions for maternity, older babies, children and families so stay tuned for more information regarding them. I’ve decided to take a bit of a break from first birthday cake smash sessions (unless you are already booked or made an enquiry), this is mostly due to my fabulous Cake Lady having an extended break but also to allow me to try a few new alternatives. I’m also little disappointed to have to hold off the launch of the Little Heirloom Club but because I will have to be closed for a couple of months this year it is best just to hold off.
With the arrival of a new baby as well as the trip to Ireland Samantha May Photography will be closed part of June, all of July & August and possibly part of September but I will be sure to keep you updated.
I’m looking forward to meeting a bundle of new babies and families this year, but also hoping to catch up with some of you again
Jodie xx
